The St. George Genealogy and Family Heritage Jamboree was wonderful. Many of our current subscribers and friends were in attendance. It was great to get to know them and to spend some time with many genealogy enthusiasts, such as Barbara Renick (Key note speaker), Kip Sperry (Associate Director of the Brigham Young University Center for Family History and Genealogy, and professor) Dick Eastman (writer – Eastman’s Online Genealogy Newsletter), Richard Black (Director at the Godfrey Memorial Library), and Tom Kemp (Director, Genealogy Products at NewsBank). While at the conference, several individuals shared some of their genealogical experiences with us. David Lifferth, President, recalls some of these experiences:

“I had a lady stop by the booth. She said that there was a great uncle that they had lost track of and had no genealogy information on him. She had tried to find any record of his existence without success. She was overwhelmed when I did a search for him in our global search and found a completely filled out family group sheet in the Everton Family Group Sheet collection on her great uncle including his children that she never new existed. I emailed the links to those Family Group sheets to her.”

“Another individual was a volunteer in the Washington County PAF Users Group. I told him about our relationship with Everton and how we have 60 years of the Everton Genealogical Helper on our site. He said that he is a professional genealogist, and that he had advertised in the Helper in the 1980’s. I typed in his name and found his advertisements. He was amazed and bought a subscription.”

We also wanted to thank Mary Lifferth for her help at the conference. She is wonderful and we really appreciate her time and effort.
