30 New Family Histories Online at WorldVitalRecords.com

Posted by on

Today, WorldVitalRecords.com launched 30 new family histories with surnames beginning with the letter “D,” ranging from Deavor to Dwight. These histories are from the Quintin Publications Collection and will be free to access until September 22, 2007.

“Whatever value is attached to history in general applies also to the history of a race or family. ‘Posthumous influences like shadows project themselves in the present’ to cheer our fainting hearts. Friends long departed seem to meet us again on the field of conflict. What monument more worthy than history shall perpetuate their memory?

We need history to supplement our treacherous human memories – it is our only guide when memory fails. Family history is of financial importance. Fortunes have been lost or misappropriated for the want of sufficient records. I trust this book will bring to light a long-hidden legacy. Finally, definite knowledge of our ancestry is a mark of intelligence for which there is no apology. We need to remember that ‘blood is thicker than water,’ and often more precious.” Introduction in A Brief History of the Deavor Family in America.
