FamilyLink.com recently added a new feature called the Look Up feature. This feature allows users to request, view, claim, and fulfill genealogy look up requests. Look Up feature is located on the top, right side of the Familylink.com toolbar, in between the features called Places and Connect.
How does it work?
To create a request for someone else to assist you with your family history, click on the create a new look up request. Enter the information about your specific lookup and click on submit (be as specific as possible).
Once you submit your request, FamilyLink.com will automatically match your request with other FamilyLink.com members who can assist (specifically members who live in or near the location where you are requesting information). Your request will be valid for 30 days. You will be notified when your request is claimed (meaning that someone that committed to fulfill your look up request).
